Christopher Yates
Chris is the heart and soul of The Choir - composer, conductor, pianist, and frontman extraordinaire - and brings a wealth of experience as well as boundless energy to every rehearsal and performance.

After training at both London College of Music and Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Chris worked around the world in the music industry, and is a highly-accomplished performer, session musician and musical director.
​
Chris is a professional music educator who brings out the best in other performers, from first-time singers to X Factor stars. As Choir Director, he blends expertise with charisma, inspiring everyone around him with his passion, skill, and infectious enthusiasm. Whether he’s sharing a joke with you or moving you with his music, he ensures that every rehearsal and performance is unforgettable.
As a talented composer and songwriter, he creates original pieces for The Choir to perform, as well as regularly arranging well-known songs for the different voices in the group. And as an advocate for musicians, he is passionate about promoting live music.
Chris lives in north Worcestershire with his French bulldog, Boo.​​​
The Choir is the most friendly, fun and creative choir you will find. It is the thing I am most proud of, and I urge you to take a leap of faith and come and experience it for yourself! I promise you will meet lovely people, build confidence and - most of all - laugh!

Gill & Yvonne
Gill and Yvonne are the powerhouse pair who make The Choir run smoothly. From your very first enquiry, to your taster session and beyond, they are here to ensure that you feel comfortable, confident, and part of The Choir family. As choir members themselves, they know what it feels like to be new, and will always do their best to support you, and help you find your voice.
The Choir Coordinators manage memberships, coordinate performances, organise social events, and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, so that you can focus on enjoying singing, making friends, and having fun. If you have any questions, just ask the dynamic duo!
The Choir isn’t just about singing - it’s about experiences I never imagined I’d have, like recording and filming in the most unusual places! So much care and attention goes into every rehearsal and performance, and I love being part of the team that brings it all to life.
